One mother described her worst nightmare when she revealed her two-year-old boy climbed out of bed in the middle of the night and went out the front door, leaving him unable to get in.
The woman from the US, known on TikTok as @mustangashley9, revealed she was woken up by my cops in her bedroom after her son left the house without her knowing.
She shared her “horror story” in a viral TikTok, adding that she feels like the “s***iest mom ever.”
The mother said she put her son to bed at 8pm and checked on her two-year-old at 10:30pm before going to bed.
‘I open the door. I see him in his bed, he’s fine.’
And the next morning, to her surprise, she is awakened by the police in her bedroom.

Police wake her and her husband and tell them they “found a toddler outside in the front yard, crying and screaming and cold. We made him wait outside in an ambulance.’
She said: “I just woke up from a deep sleep, rushing into my son’s room and I can’t find him there. And then you run down the stairs, out the door, completely barefoot, no coat, and down the block to find my son.’
And while the mother noted that she and her son are fine now, she added that she will never forget that horrific moment.
“I wasn’t woken up by the baby monitor stationed in his room, the door being opened, the police officers knocking on my door, anything,” she explained.
And it wasn’t just the mother who didn’t hear her child’s noises, she revealed that her husband, mother-in-law and other child hadn’t woken up either, adding that her dog wasn’t even barking.
“Other than that, no one woke up in my house until the police arrived in my bedroom.

“I won’t sleep well for a very long time,” she said at the end of her video.

Another user added: “I have one who went to the ER twice and had to call the poison control center within six weeks. I was convinced ‘they’ would take my children away from me.”
“That’s what my therapist told me and it’s helped me over the years… ‘Bad parents don’t worry if they’re bad parents,’ be kind to yourself and give yourself grace,” commented another user.
“When my oldest was three, he ran onto a three lane freeway when I strapped his little brother into the car seat. He was fine, I wasn’t,” wrote another user.
