A 10yearold boy has been arrested after shooting and killing another child of the same age in the US. According to local authorities, the case occurred last Saturday (December 30) in the city of Sacramento, California. The gun used by the boy was in the possession of his father, who was also arrested for illegally carrying the revolver and reported stolen.

“Officers responded to a shooting call in the 4700 block of Greenholme Drive. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a young man bleeding from his head and neck. The victim, who was only 10 years old, was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead,” the Sacramento Sheriff’s Office said.
After rescuing the child, police interviewed witnesses who said the person responsible for the shooting fled to a nearby building. The boy was arrested at the scene along with his father, Arkete Davis, who attempted to throw away the weapon used in the crime. The revolver was found by police in a dumpster near the building.

“The juvenile was arrested and transported to the Sacramento County Juvenile Detention Center where he was charged with murder. The father was arrested and taken to the Sacramento County Main Jail where he was charged with multiple firearmsrelated crimes and child endangerment. He is being held on a $500,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on January 3,” the sheriff’s office said.
