‘We are very excited to share our special news!’ Strictly Come Dancing couple Janette Manrara and Aljaž Škorjanec confirm they are expecting their first child after a two-year battle to conceive
Strictly Come Dancing couple Janette Manrara and Aljaž Škorjanec have confirmed they are expecting their first child.
The professional ballroom dancers announced the news Sunday afternoon in an Instagram post in conjunction with a magazine cover shoot hosted by HELLO! On Monday.
Captioning an official photo from the spread, Janette, 39, wrote: “We are so excited to share our special news!”
The Cuban-American choreographer detailed her pregnancy in an accompanying interview and admitted she had struggled to conceive for more than two years, sparking fears it might never happen.
“For the last few years we hadn’t used any protection but nothing was happening, so we figured IVF would be the next best thing for us,” she explained.
“I’ll be 40 later this year and the NHS has really good services for women under 40. The doctor said we would start the injections as soon as I got my period, but my period never came.”
