Alec Musser's Cause Of Death Has Been Revealed: All My Children Star And Fitness Model Died By Suicide From A Self-inflicted Gunshot At The Age Of 50

All My Children star Alec Musser died by suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Friday at age 50.

The former fitness model, who was also known for his guest role on “Desperate Housewives,” was found dead by his fiancée Paige Press on Saturday, January 13, with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest in his Del Mar home , California.

According to a news release from the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office issued Tuesday, Musser was found in his bathroom after Press killed him alive on Friday, Jan. 12.

The press declared it was the “worst day of my life” when they confirmed the actor had died.

The couple got engaged last year and Press posted a series of throwback photos on her Instagram Story as a tribute to the late actor.

“Rest to the love of my life,” she wrote on Instagram via a “vision board for 2023” where she posted photos of him and engagement pictures. “I will never stop loving you.”

Over a photo of them appearing together on the red carpet, she wrote: “Today is the worst day of my life. “We were so happy.”

“You were the best fiancé I could find.” [sic] “Everything I've ever wanted,” she posted alongside a photo of him surprising her with matching Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUVs. “I don’t even think I can drive my station wagon anymore.”

Messer's uncle also confirmed the tragic news to TMZ, but also did not provide any information about his cause of death.

Musser previously played the role of Del Henry on the long-running television series All My Children.

He landed the role in July 2005 after winning the second season of the SOAPnet original series I Wanna Be a Soap Star.

He appeared in a total of 43 episodes until his exit from the drama series in 2007.

He also appeared in Grown Ups, Desperate Housewives, Road to the Altar and Rita Rocks.

The New York native was an avid athlete and also a fitness model since childhood.

After graduating from the University of San Diego, he began working with the professional ski patrol at Mammouth Mountain.

There he was discovered by an agent for his first modeling job at Abercrombie and Fitch.

After landing national commercials, he auditioned for “I Wanna Be a Soap Star.”

He has not been active in Hollywood in recent years, but has remained present on social media as he often posts about his active lifestyle and fitness journey.

In his last Instagram post four days ago, he showed himself doing one of his favorite outdoor activities, surfing.

In the comments section, many of his fans left touching tributes, remembering his memory and expressing their condolences to his loved ones.

Adam Sandler, who worked with Musser on Grown Ups, shared a heartbreaking tribute to his former co-star.

“I loved this guy,” he wrote in a caption alongside a photo of Musser in their 2010 comedy. “I can't believe he's gone.”

The 57-year-old actor continued: “Such a wonderful, funny, good man.” Thinking of Alec Musser and his family and sending all my love. “A truly great treasure of a person.”
