Celebrity Big Brother star Gary Goldsmith didn't take long to talk about his connection to the royal family as uncle to the Princess of Wales.
The 58-year-old businessman, who is Carol Middleton's younger brother, opened up about his relationship with Kate for the first time at Monday's launch.
And in the upcoming episode, Gary will discuss his relationship with the royals in more detail as he is examined by his co-stars Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne.
Gary didn't hold back as he explained that reaching his niece Kate, who is currently recovering from abdominal surgery, is “difficult at the best of times.”
Louis asks, “Do you find it difficult being related to famous people?”

Gary, who made millions by owning a recruitment business, said: “I didn't vote for it, it happened to me and then suddenly you're in the spotlight.”
When discussing his thoughts on his nickname, he says, “They call me the Buncle!” Have you ever heard of a Buncle? Bad uncle, apparently every family has something like that.'
Gary has been married four times and was convicted in 2017 of assaulting his fourth wife, Julie-Ann.
He pleaded guilty to one count of assault and received a £5,000 fine and a 12-month prison sentence with 20 rehabilitation sessions.
Gary then admits: “Kate is difficult to reach at the best of times and she has children and I love the fact that she puts family first.”
Kate was seen in the car for the first time since her operation on a trip with her mother Carol and is expected to return to her duties at Easter.
Gary also admits that he believes Will and Kate are both the “savior of the royal family” and the heirs to the throne.
Louis presses, “I have to ask you, have you met Meghan Markle?”
He was the sixth contestant to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house during Monday's explosive opening episode.
Gary, Kate Middleton's uncle, hopes to add more fun to this year's series by “being entertaining and providing closure.”
As Gary prepared to enter the house, host AJ Odudu wasted no time in asking him if his royal niece would be tuning in.
Gary joked: “She'll hide behind the sofa if she's watching.”

Gary, who is reportedly worth £30 million, has had a close relationship with the Princess of Wales for years and attended her wedding to Prince William in 2011.
Kate was a bridesmaid at Gary's first wedding to sales executive Miranda Foote in 1991, and her uncle previously revealed how the heartbroken royal sought solace in his Ibiza villa after splitting from William.
Kate has been absent from official royal engagements until after Easter after undergoing serious surgery in January, with Kensington Palace insisting last week that she is still “doing well”.
She has not been seen at any royal occasions since she attended Sandringham church on Christmas Day with William and her children George, Charlotte and Louis.
Gary is said to have told his friends that he won't do anything to harm Kate or William – but he has previously attacked Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, so they could now be in the firing line.
The star also admitted that he hopes his appearance on Big Brother will allow the public to see a different side of him.
He said: “I've often read that people think I'm a bad little boy.” It would be nice to set the record straight, but teasing people is probably one of my favorite hobbies.
“Every part of me is full of disaster and danger.”

Referring to his four marriages, he added: “I am an absolute nightmare to live with. There’s a reason I had four wives.”

As he entered the house, he spoke to hosts AJ and Will, adding: “I take everyone at face value, but if they're a bit mean or a bit rude, I'll be the enforcer.”
Gary told The Sun exclusively in January: “I just spoke to Carole to send my greetings and we spoke about Kate in light of what's going on.”
“A lot is happening in the family moment.” She's doing a lot of moving around at the moment, which is pretty stressful. The last thing I’m going to do is cause them stress.”
He added: “I think she [Carole] She'll probably be watching me from behind the sofa with some trepidation, but I think if the best version of Gary comes along she'd be very proud of me – that's what we were hoping for!'
Gary has previously spoken out in support of Kate – including to the Mail on Sunday in March 2021 following Harry and Meghan's infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey.
He said at the time: “I've known Kate since she was born and she has nothing evil in her body.” It's just not in her nature.
“She's even more beautiful on the inside than she is on the outside.” If anyone had a tantrum, it must have been Meghan. Kate would have tried to make peace. I would fight until my death for Kate's honor. She is the most spectacular person I have ever met.”
He had previously spoken out against Harry and Meghan following the release of Spare and is known for his outspoken views on the couple. Writing for the Mail last year, he criticized Harry's autobiography Spare as “petulant, self-serving… nonsense”.
