Florence then posed with her co-star in The Wonder, Kila Lord Cassidy, which will be released on the streaming service on November 16.

Her role will be the actress’ first following the ongoing controversy surrounding her previous project, Don’t Worry Darling.

The film follows her character, English nurse Lib Wright, who travels to Ireland to take care of a girl who has miraculously survived months without food.

The official synopsis reads: ‘The Irish Midlands, 1862 – a young girl stops eating but miraculously survives and does well. English nurse Lib Wright is taken to a tiny village to observe eleven-year-old Anna O’Donnell’.

“Tourists and pilgrims gather to witness the girl believed to have survived months without food. Does the village harbor a saint who “lives on the manna of heaven,” or are there more sinister motives at work?”.

Based on the novel by Emma Donoghue, the psychological thriller is inspired by the 19th-century phenomenon of the ‘fasting girl’.

The film, starring Tom Burke, Toby Jones, Kila Lord Cassidy and Niamh Algar, is directed by Oscar winner Sebastián Lelio.

It’s set amid recent ‘Miss Flo’ drama during her last film DWD, where director Olivia Wilde referred to her as such during a leaked phone conversation with then-co-star Shia LaBeouf.

A report from Page Six in late July claimed Florence was upset with Olivia for hooking up with lead actor Harry Styles during production – while she was still engaged to Jason Sudeikis – before they split in November.

“I can tell you for sure that when Flo saw Olivia and Harry on set, he didn’t go down well as Olivia was still with Jason when she first met Harry,” the source said.

Others have noted that Florence has been sparse in posting about the film on her social media accounts, which has also fueled rumors of on-set friction.

The actress missed the photocall for the film during the Venice Film Festival earlier this month and kept her distance from the director on the red carpet.

Asked by an Italian journalist at the event what she found “inspiring” about the film, Florence appeared to sneakily attack Olivia.

She replied: “I find it very, very inspiring to see a woman push back and say ‘no’ and question everything. It’s very exciting to see a woman do that in front of and behind the camera.”

When asked when she says “no” off-camera, Pugh jokingly replied, “When do I say ‘no’? If someone says I can’t have cake.’

Rumors of tensions intensified after Olivia suggested Florence should have a “wake-up call” in a leaked video this month.

The video was leaked after Shia refuted Olivia’s claim that he was fired from the project, and in the footage, Wilde can be heard encouraging LaBeouf to stay with the film rather than leave, while also addressing some apparent tensions alludes to Florence.

Olivia gave an interview to Variety in which she said Shia LaBeouf’s trial was “not conducive to the ethos that I demand in my productions” after the role was eventually recast with her now-boyfriend, Harry.

In response, Shia provided alleged evidence to refute Wilde’s claims, including an email he sent to the director and a video she allegedly sent him to prove he left the film rather than being fired will.

Shia claims he “left the film due to lack of rehearsal time” on August 17, 2020 and forwarded two emails to Variety that he allegedly sent to Wilde recently.

Some studio sources have told the publication that Shia was fired, while another said his departure was due to a “collective realization that LaBeouf’s acting style didn’t sit well with Wilde’s approach as a director.”
