This Morning fans were left divided as Paddy McGuinness co-hosted the show with Alison Hammond on Thursday.
The 50-year-old comedian represented Dermot O'Leary more than a decade after he first hosted the ITV show.
His appearance comes after a number of his BBC appearances were cancelled, including Top Gear and A Question Of Sport, with the presenter admitting he was “running out of money”.
As some viewers watched the show, they praised Alison and Paddy for being “the best couple”, while others claimed they were “the worst” combination.
Sharing their thoughts with X, one person wrote: “Paddy is like the friend you left because he was a nightmare but you can't resist because he still makes you laugh.”

Another added: “Simply the best couple Paddy and Alison”
A third person asked: “May I suggest that Paddy McGuinness would be a good choice as the show's main presenter?”
“Paddy brought joy to my morning.” He would be a great addition to the show! I'd rather see him with Cat!!!' someone else agreed.
But not all viewers were quite so keen, with one fan writing: “Paddy McGuinness is on this morning!” You really have no idea about ITV #ThisMorning. Who the hell would have thought Paddy McGuinness was appealing too!'
“Oh no, Alison and Paddy are just the worst,” agreed another.
Someone else hit back, replying: “Reading all the negativity and meanness is exhausting.” Personally, I enjoy showcasing Paddy, I love Alison and of course the pup is beautiful. I'm tired of the whining. If you don't like it, turn it over or turn it off.'
This comes after Paddy admitted he was “running out of money” as he revealed he plans to return to stand-up comedy for the first time in six years.
The presenter made the tour announcement after it was revealed that the Top Gear show he co-hosted was canceled following Freddie Flintoff's accident.

Paddy admitted he has spent a significant amount of his money and plans to “build it back up” by returning to the comedy scene.
The comedian shared the revelation during an appearance on This Morning with Emma Willis and Rylan Clark on Wednesday.
When asked why he decided to do the tour, Paddy said: “Um, the money's gone now so it's taken about eight years to spend it all and I'm thinking, 'I've got to build it back up'.”
“It's strange that writing a tour takes a lot of time. When we had the break from Top Gear I had been planning it for a long time and thought, 'There's a window'.”
Paddy announced the news of his tour on his Instagram page earlier this week, telling fans: “I'm dying to tell you this!”
“After a six year break I’m finally back on tour!!!” Paddy McGuinness – Almost there. All links for pre-sales in my bio. See you in the new year… live!!!!'
Last month, Paddy thanked fans “for the love” after the BBC said the hit series would not be airing “for the foreseeable future”.
His farewell message came amid fears that the program's insurance costs would no longer be affordable following the Flintoff crash.
Production on the show has been halted since presenter Flintoff, 45, was rushed to hospital in December 2022 after being seriously injured in an accident on the Top Gear test track at Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey.
Following the crash, the BBC announced it would pause production of the show, co-hosted by Take Me Out presenter Paddy McGuinness and automotive journalist Chris Harris, as it felt it was “inappropriate”, adding that it was a health concern – and health risk would give security clearance.

He wrote the caption: “We always wanted to be idiots, but we were your idiots.”
“Thank you so much for all the love over the years, it has been greatly appreciated.”
Fans wished them well and told them they would be missed.
